Crash
Earth Defence Artic Computing Ltd 63% (Issue 2, p37) Above average to good.
Earthlight Firebird Software Ltd  90% (A CRASH SMASH, Issue 53, p10)  Could (hopefully) set a whole new trend in shoot 'em ups.

East Front CCS (Issue 14, p125)
Echelon US Gold Ltd 16% (Issue 61, p62) A great disappointment after the tremendous success of their last flight game, Thunderblade - nice box, though...
Eddie Kidd Jump Challenge Martech Games Ltd 56% (Issue 11, p46) A good simulation, not over exciting and not particularly addictive.
Edd the Duck Impulze 83% (Issue 84, p65) A colourful and very playable push for stardom.
Edd the Duck Impulze 84% (Issue 96, p59)
Ed-On Add-On Electronics Ltd 51% (Issue 4, p39) Fair to average, not very addictive.
Eidolon, The Activision Inc 76% (Issue 36, p17) Nice try at converting a game that was never suitable for the Spectrum.
Eights Atlantis Software Ltd 73% (Issue 9, p94) An excellent card implementation, being an interesting one-player game with the computer and good value for money.
Election Mastertronic Ltd 37% (Issue 8, p99) Two reviewers thought it a waste of time, one thought it above average to good.
Electronics Kit Westex Electronics (Issue 38, p46) The package has been carefully thought out, and is based on sound educational practice with the computer programs making an effective contribution to the whole.
Elevator Action Quicksilva Ltd 72% (Issue 37, p24) A well presented game, though possibly lacking in addictive qualities.
Eleventh Hour, The Venturesoft 70% (Issue 29, p89) Good value.
Eliminator Alternative Software Ltd 34% (Issue 56, p94)
Eliminator Hewson Consultants Ltd 82% (Issue 63, p11) A fast and playable 'roadblasting' shoot-'em-up.
Elite Firebird Software Ltd 92% (A CRASH SMASH, Issue 22, p28) A first class, absorbing game.
Ellisnore Diamond, The River Software 78% (Issue 97, p42)
Elven Warrior Players Premier Software 72% (Issue 73, p46)
Emerald Isle Level 9 Computing Ltd  90% (A CRASH SMASH, Issue 16, p113)  Very good.
Emlyn Hughes Arcade Quiz Audiogenic Software Ltd 68% (Issue 80, p44) A good looking quiz game: well presented but let down by slow control response.
Emlyn Hughes International Soccer Audiogenic Software Ltd 72% (Issue 63, p87) A brave attempt to combine football management and arcade skills, which doesn't quite come off.
E-motion US Gold Ltd 91% (A CRASH SMASH, Issue 76, p39) Physics lessons in school are never as fun or as frustrating as this exercise in motion.
Empires Imperial Software (Issue 10, p134)
Encounter Severn Software 45% (Issue 4, p117) Below average.
Encyclopedia of War: Ancient Battles CCS 93% (A CRASH SMASH, Issue 62, p72)
Endurance CRL Group PLC 69% (Issue 24, p14) Though not stunning in any way at all, it has a certain something.
Enduro Activision Inc 67% (Issue 10, p54) Above average to good as a game and would be good value overall if the price was lower.
Enduro Racer Activision Inc 92% (A CRASH SMASH, Issue 40, p16) A risky Spectrum conversion that has paid off handsomely, providing all the thrills and spills of the original.
Enduro Racer Activision Inc 85% (Issue 67, p44)
Energy 30000 Elm Computers 73% (Issue 2, p12) Maddening, addictive, good value.
Energy Warriors Mastertronic Ltd 45% (Issue 50, p100) Far too easy, but maybe worth getting for the 'free' game!
English Language Tutors Options International (Issue 35, p58) A very carefully thought-out series of programs which would be particularly useful for children with learning difficulties.
English Literature Charles Letts & Co (Issue 26, p74):   Revision programs like these are, generally speaking, only as good as the student using them. Used sensibly in conjunction with other study methods, they do have a useful role to play, but it has to be understood that, on their own, these packages will not miraculously ensure A grade passes!
Enigma Force Beyond Software 88% (Issue 26, p128) Difficult at first but rewarding, may prove quicker to solve than you think at first.
Enter At Your Own Risk Teenware 60% (Issue 53, p48)
Enterprise Melbourne House 59% (Issue 41, p115) A slower-paced trading game with some arcade skills required, more likely to appeal to fans of the genre.
Enterprise Melbourne House 40% (Issue 76, p47)
Entrepeneur Collins Educational (Issue 28, p78) Both are very comprehensive packages which provide excellent value for money. A great deal of thought and effort has obviously gone into their preparation, and the end result is two sophisticated, user-friendly programs which I would highly recommend to anyone entering the business world.
Equinox Mikro-Gen Ltd 87% (Issue 30, p34) A very well produced shoot em up adventure.
Eric and the Floaters Sinclair Research Ltd 60% (Issue 6, p53) Above average.

Ervaders I.E.C. Software (Issue 27, p53)
Escape from Krakatoa Abbex Electronics 83% (Issue 2, p70) Very good - highly recommended.
Escape from Pulsar 7 Digital Fantasia 60% (Issue 7, p70)
Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters  Domark Ltd 90% (A CRASH SMASH, Issue 78, p45) Forget the silly title - just play, play, play!
Eskimo Eddie Ocean Software Ltd 78% (Issue 4, p29) Very good.
Espionage Grandslam Entertainments Ltd  81% (Issue 60, p29) A very good conversion of the intriguing board game, especially interesting with more human players.
Estimator Racer Sinclair Research Ltd (Issue 13, p40) Good idea, shame about the game.
E-SWAT (Elite Special Weapons And Tactics) US Gold Ltd 28% (Issue 86, p51) With its long multi-load and awful 48k version E-SWAT is very poor value for money.
Eureka! Domark Ltd 70% (Issue 12, p128) Should be good value but has several annoying features like lack of SAVE facility.
European Champions E&J Software 70% (Issue 55, p76)
European Superleague CDS Microsystems 80% (Issue 90, p46) Finally! A football management game that's well presented, looks good, and above all is entertaining.
Evening Star Hewson Consultants Ltd 53% (Issue 45, p28) A detailed steam-train simulation for the buffs, very similar to Southern Belle.
Everyone's a Wally Mikro-Gen Ltd 93% (A CRASH SMASH, Issue 14, p118) Excellent.
Evil Crown Argus Press Software Ltd 77% (Issue 24, p181)
Excalibur: Sword of Kings Alternative Software Ltd 83% (Issue 47, p40) Well worth a try.
Exolon Hewson Consultants Ltd 90% (A CRASH SMASH, Issue 43, p14) A well-presented traditional shoot 'em-up with plenty to do and look at - and a chance of bonus points at the end of the 128 version.
Explorer Electric Dreams Software 32% (Issue 38, p101) Gargantuan, awesome, actually quite fun for a while, but devastating in the end, and ultimately a bit monotonous.
Expose Keysoft (Issue 33, p49) An excellent, professional program with a number of user-friendly features such as extensive error-trapping with a choice of typefaces. It has been thoroughly tried out at schools, and at only £4 this is a program which everyone can afford. Highly recommended!
Express Raider US Gold Ltd 47% (Issue 41, p25) Thin conversion of an unexciting coin-op.
Exterminator Audiogenic Software Ltd 81% (Issue 85, p59) Don't just sit there, get your fly swatter out and join in the fun.
